Privacy policy

Spider Lint is a Chrome extension that finds accessibility errors on the page you are looking at. This page explains what it can see, what it stores, and what it never does.

Who this covers

This policy is for the Spider Lint browser extension published by Aliaksandr Kavaliou.

What the extension can see

The extension runs only after you click its toolbar icon on a tab. It then injects a panel into that tab and, when you press Check, reads the page so axe-core can find accessibility issues. It does not run on other tabs, and it does not run in the background on sites you visit.

If you take a screenshot of an issue, Chrome’s captureVisibleTab API captures the visible tab. That image can include personal data that was already on the page. The panel warns you about this before you use the shot.

What is stored, and where

Everything the extension keeps is stored in Chrome’s local extension storage on your device:

Tickets you copy and screenshots you save go to your clipboard or downloads folder, not to us. Closing a tab does not wipe settings. Uninstalling Spider Lint deletes the stored settings and ignore list.

What we never collect

The extension does not send page contents, tickets, screenshots, or settings to us or to any server. There are no accounts, analytics, advertising, or crash reports.

The check engine (axe-core) is bundled in the extension. It does not phone home. There is no remote code.

Feedback forms

The settings page links to optional forms hosted by Tally if you want to report a bug, suggest an improvement, or send other comments. Those forms are not filled by the extension. If you open one, Tally’s own privacy policy applies to whatever you type there. Nothing is sent from the extension itself.

Permissions

The production build does not request host permissions or access to every site.

How to delete your data

Restore ignored issues from the settings page, or remove Spider Lint from chrome://extensions. That deletes local settings and the ignore list. Anything you already copied or downloaded stays on your device until you delete it yourself.

Children

The extension is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from them.
